This page explains what SurveyBase.uz collects about the people who use it, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. It covers the website only, not the survey data itself — that is covered by each dataset's licence.
Who runs this site
SurveyBase.uz is operated by [Company details — legal name, registration number and registered address to be filled in]. Until that is completed, the address below is the only contact channel and every request sent to it is answered.
What we collect
When you create an account: your email address, your name, and — if you fill them in — your affiliation, ORCID, website, short biography and avatar. Separately and optionally, a public contact email you choose to display on your profile. When you deposit: the dataset file, everything you type into the deposit form, and your identity as its depositor. When anyone uses the site: a count of page visits and downloads per dataset, and the technical logs our hosting and database providers keep automatically.
Why we collect it
Your email address signs you in and lets us reach you about your own deposits. Your name and affiliation are the credit printed in every citation of your dataset. The deposit form's answers are the dataset's documentation — they are the archive. Visit and download counts tell depositors their work is being used, and tell us which datasets to keep.
What is public
Your name, affiliation, biography, ORCID, website, avatar and published datasets appear on your public profile, which anyone can read. Your sign-in email address is never published. A public contact email is published only if you enter one in that field yourself — that is what the field is for.
Personal data inside datasets
Datasets deposited here must not contain names, phone numbers, exact addresses, passport or ID numbers, or anything else that identifies a respondent. Moderators check every deposit before it is published, but checking is not a guarantee. If you find identifying information in a published dataset, write to us and it will be taken offline while we look at it.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in; it is set only after you sign in and is removed when you sign out. Your theme and language choices are stored in your own browser. There are no advertising cookies and no advertising trackers on this site; the visitor measurement described in the next section sets no cookies at all.
Visitor measurement
We count page views using Vercel Analytics, run by our hosting provider. It sets no cookies and builds no profile of you: it records only that a page was viewed, from which country, and on what kind of device, and it never stores your IP address or anything that identifies you personally. We use it to learn which datasets people look for, nothing more. It cannot see anything you type, and it is not connected to any advertising network.
Where it is stored
Account data, dataset metadata and uploaded files are stored with Supabase; the site itself is hosted by Vercel. Both are processors acting on our instructions, and both operate servers outside Uzbekistan, so using this site means your data is stored abroad.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while your account exists. Ask us to delete it and we will, within 30 days. Datasets already published are a separate matter: other people cite them, so instead of deleting them we can remove your name from them and republish them anonymously — or withdraw them entirely if there is a legal or ethical reason to. Say which you want and why. Download counts are kept as totals with nothing tied to a person.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, correct anything wrong, and have your account data deleted. Most of it you can change yourself on your profile page. For everything else, write to the address below; we answer within 30 days.
Changes to this notice
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect or publish, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and account holders are emailed before the change takes effect.
